My property was repossessed about a month ago. I now have the money to pay off the arrears and any legal costs. But the lender has refused to accept my offer. What can I do now?
If your financial situation has changed and you are in a position to pay off arrears and costs you should contact your lender immediately. You should be able to stop the eviction up until the point that contracts are exchanged with the new buyer of the house. However, once contracts have been exchanged the sale becomes legally binding and cannot be reversed. If your lender refuses to accept your offer I suggest you contact a local solicitor. Most decent solicitors will give you the first half hour of a consultation for free.
