Your lender will first communicate with you that you have mortgage arrears. If you fail to resolve the situation they will start court proceedings after around 6 months of being in arrears. You will receive a date for a court hearing, to which you must attend. If the matter is still not resolved the possession order may be granted and you will be ordered to leave your home.
